Which role can ecovillages play in fostering energy citizenship and speeding up the energy transition? How does (or could) the collaboration between ecovillages and local governments work? How does this affect their work?
The collaboration with local governments plays a crucial role in fostering and broadening the impact of community-led initiatives. It also enhances and strengthens a feeling of community and local ownership, supporting the development of tailored solutions and, more generally, is key to building trust in local authorities.
The second advanced Module of the Community Energy Academy is hosted at Community Conversations, flagship program of the Sustainable and Just Cities Platform! For the occasion, the goals of this session are to:
- i) understand the importance of the collaboration between community-led initiatives and local governments,
ii) explore how this collaboration can foster the achievement of sustainability goals and,
iii) investigate how this can contribute to the emergence and mainstreaming of energy citizenship.
