CO-CREATION module: co-creation processes for energy citizenship and communities
Live Training session on Zoom (21.09.2023): Harvesting citizens´ knowledge: co-creating energy transition
What is co-creation in energy transition? How can co-creation enable and mainstream energy citizenship and community energy actions? How can we co-create sustainable energy solutions with local communities and citizens? What are the barriers and enablers to co-creation in energy transition? The live training session aims to provide an understanding of the nature of co-creation in energy transition and its key role in the emergence and mainstreaming of energy citizenship and community energy actions. The panel discussion will lay out research results and the experience of local governments in the establishment of co-creation processes.

The speakers for this session are:

Wolfgang Haider is a researcher and project manager at the Centre for Social Innovation in Vienna, where he has been working since October 2015. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Utrecht´s Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development. Wolfgang also coordinates the H2020 project RIPEET (Responsible Research and Innovation Policy Experimentation for Energy Transition). This initiative aims to drive needs-based regional innovative policies and foster collaborations that accelerate sustainable energy transitions, ensuring a just and sustainable future for communities in the EU and beyond.

Rachel Tully is responsible for the European projects department at Extremadura’s Energy Agency (AGENEX), where she has been working since June 2017. Rachel combines her technical experience in the energy sector with her international knowledge in EU topics and sustainable energy objectives, to better assess the regional administration in policy improvements. As well as her responsibilities as head of department, she is project manager for some of the most relevant H2020 ongoing projects in the Agency, such as RIPEET or CSP ERANET.
Julia Rokicka is a political scientist by education, she worked in the European Parliament and the European Committee of the Regions. Co-founder and board member of the Biorecycling Association, IT Business Analyst and leader of the Sustainable Development network at the bank, eco-educator, representative of the Trash Hero organization in Wrocław, and active citizen.
